Let’s view a few examples of his recent oil paintings
Lloyd was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Independence, Missouri. He studied art in high school and college where he was blessed to win numerous art awards and ribbons. In Missouri Lloyd studied under the late artist Andrew Thoman. Lloyd moved to Southern California in 1960 and studied under artist Bert Carter.
After a couple of years living in California, Lloyd partnered with three other artist and opened a gallery in Laguna Beach, California. That same year opened an additional gallery and studio in Canoga Park, California where he taught oil painting as
well.
In 2007 Lloyd moved to Treasure Island, Florida where Florida’s west coast now seem to influence his paintings. The year 2013 moved to the Siesta Key – Sarasota area and close to his son and granddaughters and where they have invigorated Lloyd to continue capturing God’s palette.

You can find Lloyd Dobson Artist and his paintings every Sunday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Siesta Key Farmers Market in the Village at 5104 Ocean Blvd. Siesta Key, Florida. Come by and say hello.
